Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat kidney stones using a flexible ureteroscope passed through the urinary tract without any incision.

Who is a Suitable Candidate?

  • Small to medium kidney stones
  • Stones in difficult kidney locations
  • Patients unsuitable for PCNL

How the Procedure is Performed

  • Scope passed through urethra and bladder into kidney
  • Laser used to break stones
  • Fragments pass naturally or are removed
